Product Support Engineer/Trainee Developer

We are looking for a Product Support Engineer/Trainee Developer to join our team to provide and deliver product support for our systems and services in an efficient and timely way, in accordance with customer and business needs. You will be working alongside 2 highly experienced software developers and 2 support/implementation specialists as well as the MD of the business who has responsibility for strategy and product.

You will be dealing with hands-on problem fixing and troubleshooting, testing new features and starting to develop certain aspects of the system under the guidance of the existing development team. Support is generally provided remotely, although on occasion there will be opportunity for face to face meetings with our clients.

The candidate will be expected to be a quick learner as he/she will be thrown a variety of challenges and required to work hard to meet business objectives. The candidate will be given training by virtue of teamwork, but it is expected that the successful candidate will be able to work independently and solve a variety of technical challenges individually.

  • 1 to 2 years of professional experience in a similar role OR a recent College / University graduate looking for a great first step on the career ladder within IT
  • Experience with / or an understanding of C# (.NET), MVC, Javascript, CSS, JQuery, SQL Server, Azure
  • Great communication skills (in person and via telephone), excellent written and spoken English is essential
  • The successful candidate will be a punctual and thorough worker, with astute attention to detail
  • Any IT qualifications will be an advantage but not essential
  • Valid UK driving licence is also preferable (although not essential)

All technical staff are given a thorough aptitude and technical test during interviews, so please be aware that this is part of our common employment practice.

  • The role is 9am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday, with some evening and weekend work required.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £18,000 to £22,000.00/year (dependent on skills and experience).
