Alexander Clement began his career in the auction industry in 1998, taking over the European ceramics and glass department at Phillips Chester saleroom. In 2000 he took on the Asian art specialism, building a modest department in anticipation of future growth. A year later Phillips merged with Bonhams and in 2007 he became Saleroom Director at Chester, running the operation for a further six years. He left Bonhams in 2014, working as a freelance valuer and cataloguer with a number of UK regional auction rooms. In 2015 Alexander joined the team at Halls in Shrewsbury to run the Asian art department, developing a strong brand identity and attracting significant lots to the saleroom. Working closely with Nikki Robinson on the development of the new Halls Fine Art web site and back office system, Alexander was drawn to the web management side of the business and with his twenty years of auction experience was in an ideal position to join the Go Auction team as Client Implementation Lead.
